Start with execution

A limit order is not automatically a maker order. If it matches immediately, it can be charged as taker. The final classification is determined by execution, not the label selected in the order ticket.

Add the hidden cost layers

For a realistic estimate, add spread and likely slippage to both sides of a trade. For perpetual contracts, include opening and closing fees plus funding payments. For moving assets, compare the exact withdrawal network and minimum withdrawal amount.

Use the account rate as the final authority

Public tables are useful for orientation. Account tier, region, trading pair and temporary campaigns can override the baseline. Save a screenshot or export of the applicable rate when documenting a high-value decision.
